Product Description
Based on the novel by Richard Price (who also scripted), "Freedomland" stars Julianne Moore as a suburban woman who claims her son was taken when she was carjacked while driving through the neighboring projects. The police descend on the predominantly black community, turning the area into a hotbed of racial unrest and prompting veteran detective Samuel L. Jackson to suspect that Moore isn't telling the whole truth. With Edie Falco, Ron Eldard, William Forsythe. And, loosely based on the hit 1970s TV series, S.W.A.T. stars Jackson as Hondo Harrelson, veteran officer in the L.A.P.D.'s Special Weapons and Tactics unit. When jailed international arms dealer Olivier Martinez offers a $100 million reward to anyone who can spring him during a prison transfer, Jackson must recruit an elite S.W.A.T. team that includes Colin Farrell, Michelle Rodriguez and LL Cool J to keep the city from exploding into chaos. 3 3/4 hrs. total on two discs.
